I am going to try to continue to take pictures of some of the trees in hopes of seeing the changing colors in picture form. We have so many trees, of course . With 25 acres of woods, that's what you get. I am just going to do mostly the ones in the homestead area. some of these we have also taken at nite so this is a chance to see the daylight ones. And my favorite country road will be the last one. We are so lucky!
I really need to spend some more time out here. The sounds of the city around us is just not what I want to hear. Simplicity. Serenity. That is what I crave...

Opening day of adult deer season. Muzzelloader opening day. Perry does't use one of these, so we just stayed here to see who mite drive down our little road. This day there was no activity. A bit surprised we were, maybe. I think the people that have hunted there before have figured out there's a new guy in "town" and hunting just isn't allowed anymore. Could have a little to do with the signs Perry has posted. These deer will have their fair share of hunters, like Perry, Ben and I. I'm hoping, with Perry's help to shoot my first one this year! Very exciting!
So we took a little walk around and this is what we saw! Looks like a big one! And some of these were after we had already walked in that area!

Taken Sat Oct 18, 2014 This is my favorite fall color and I believe my favorite leaf. They just seem to be the perfect fall leaf, don't you think?

These were taken on Sat Oct 11, 2014. I came here after work on Friday and we had a nice little rain storm. The leaves are starting to change,so i will try to get some good shots. That rock pile will become part of the basement soon. Coming right along, not soon enough for me tho.
and the last shot if the little dogwood that will be part of the front yard.

Today is Sunday Oct 5,2014. Perry has to work in town today and tomorrow, so  took advantage and did some canning. Chili for supper then canned the rest, and some more Jalapeno jam. Made it with all red Jalapeno's hoping for some good heat! Perry and I like it hot! The bottom pic is the jalapenos before they were cooked down.
I really hope you are enjoying our blog as much as we are the things that make it.

Wed Oct 8, 2014 Starry starry nite.. I try to go to the farm at least once during the week to spend time with Perry as he is working in the county and staying at the farm. This nite the sky was really nice...

Oct 4 2014. A little work must be done to make the dream come true. Here is Perry installing trusses in a building he is working on for his cousin.
What a difference a week makes! This is Saturday Oct 4, 2014. It rained last nite, we had company and a really good time. Awoke this morning to a chilly 42 degrees. But we were snug inside our building, protected from the cold. On Thursday nite, Oct 2 it rained so hard, it blew the door open a few times, it was my first nite to stay and then go to work the next day. Getting up that early just isn't right. We both always sleep best when we are there.

There will be a home here someday soon... if you look real close, you can see the stakes for the house.

These were taken at 1:03 pm, look at the way the shadow goes on our little home site. And just look at those logs, Perry will be running them thru his sawmill soon. Amazing!
